Akoni Oodua Global Services Limited has honoured distinguished women for their outstanding contributions to society at the 2026 Heroine Hall of Fame, held on Tuesday, August 26, 2026, at the historic Ile Nla, within the House of Oduduwa, Ile-Ife.
The event brought together notable personalities, academics and dignitaries to celebrate women whose achievements and contributions continue to inspire positive change in society.
Speaking as the guest speaker, Professor Adeola Faleye of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, urged the award recipients to draw inspiration from the lives and legacies of great women who made remarkable contributions in their respective eras.
Professor Faleye stressed that being a woman should never be regarded as a limitation to achieving greatness, noting that history is replete with women who distinguished themselves despite the challenges of their time.
She cited historical figures including Moremi Ajasoro, Mary Slessor and Aminat as examples of women who refused to allow societal limitations to prevent them from making meaningful contributions to humanity.
“Heroines like Moremi Ajasoro, Mary Slessor, Aminat and others excelled in their own era because they did not allow anything to limit them,” Professor Faleye said.
She further admonished the awardees to regard the recognition not merely as an honour, but as a call to greater service, urging them to use their positions and influence to contribute more meaningfully to the development of society.
Also speaking at the occasion, His Royal Highness, Oba Adebowale, Agbolu Agbaje, who represented the Ooni of Ife, described the recipients as worthy ambassadors of the House of Oduduwa.
According to him, by receiving the prestigious recognition, the awardees had become daughters of the Arole Oduduwa, and should therefore conduct themselves with dignity while striving to make greater contributions to society.
The Chief Executive Officer of Akoni Oodua Global Services Limited, Asiwaju Temidayo Ayodele, also highlighted the significance of the award, describing it as a platform for recognising women whose achievements deserve to be celebrated and preserved.
He noted that the choice of the historic Ile Nla as the venue further underscored the importance and uniqueness of the occasion.
“Every recipient of this award should count themselves lucky,” Asiwaju Ayodele said, stressing that the historical significance of the venue added depth and prestige to the recognition.
The 2026 Heroine Hall of Fame ultimately served as a celebration of female excellence, resilience and service, while encouraging the honourees to continue blazing the trail and contributing to the advancement of society.

Folashade Florence Olabanji-Oba, Princess Ajoke Silifat Adegboye, Fawole Tawakalitu Omolara, Hon.Tomisin Falade Edu, Mrs Angela Yinka Oseghale Akintunde, Hon. (Mrs.) Kemisola Adegboroye, Hon. Princess Mulikat Adunni Oyefusi, Hon. Mrs Susan Waibode Kiridi Lokpobiri, Hon. Olawumi Fayemi Obayelu, Erelu Okin Princess Iji Ayeola.
