Senator Representing Ife/Ijesa Senatorial District, Sen. Francis Fadahunsi, has distributed foodstuffs, financial support and with other empowerment materials to no fewer than 2,000 elderly women and widows in the Ife axis.
The programme, tagged “Ife Elderly Women and Widows Outreach”, held at Okunade Sijuwade Hall, Enuwa, on Thursday,12th February 2026 in Ile-Ife.
Fadahunsi, who was represented by his Wife, Mrs Adeola Fadahunsi, explained that the initiative was designed to reach groups often neglected in conventional constituency projects, particularly elderly women and widows.
She said that the senator’s interventions also cut across youth development and general welfare in an intervention aimed at easing economic hardship and recognizing their contributions to the society.
According to her, the program attracted a large turnout of aged women and widows drawn from different communities, by offering relief and encouragement to hundreds of beneficiaries.
The Senior Legislative Aide (SLA) to Sen. Fadahunsi, Mr Ayo Awodirepo, said that the outreach was part of broader efforts to cushion the impact of poverty and hunger and to supports constituents through job opportunities and other welfare-focused program.
Additionally, Mrs Bosede Oyesanmi of the Directorate of Internal Audit, Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, used the opportunity to sensitize the women on healthy living, family care, social engagement, diligence, and the importance of prayer.
Mrs Faderera Adelore, who spoke on behalf of beneficiaries, expressed appreciation for what she described as consistent concern for the welfare of vulnerable members of the community.
The event also had in attendance of representatives of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Pastor Olakunle Lawrence and the Deputy Chief Imam of Ife, Alhaji Monsur Adedeji, the Iyalojas among others, underscoring the broad community support for the outreach.
