President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima have been named Chairman and Vice Chairman respectively of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council for the 2027 elections, with former Zamfara State Governor, Senator Abdulaziz Yari, appointed Director-General and Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, as Secretary.
The composition of the council, announced on Saturday, August 22, 2026, brings together senior party leaders, serving governors, federal lawmakers and key political figures across the country as the ruling party begins preparations for the 2027 presidential election.
APC National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, will serve as another Vice Chairman, while Senator Ajibola Bashiru and Hadiza Bala-Usman have been appointed Deputy Secretary and Assistant Secretary respectively.
The council will be supported by a body of advisers comprising former APC National Chairman, Chief Bisi Akande; veteran journalist and politician, Chief Segun Osoba; Senator Rochas Okorocha; former APC National Chairman, Senator Abdullahi Adamu; and Senator Florence Ita Giwa.
Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas and Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni have been appointed Deputy Director-Generals for the southern and northern zones, working alongside Senator Bamidele Opeyemi and Senator Jibril Barau.
Former Edo State Governor, Senator Adams Oshiomhole, will oversee mobilization as Deputy Director-General, while the President’s Chief of Staff will serve as Deputy Director-General in charge of Administration.
James Abiodun Faleke, who played a prominent role in the APC’s 2022/2023 presidential campaign, returns as Deputy Director-General for Election Planning, Coordination and Monitoring. He will work with zonal directors across the six geopolitical zones.
In the media and strategic communications directorate, the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris Malagi, has been appointed Coordinating Director, working alongside Dele Alake, Bayo Onanuga and Lanre Issa-Onilu.
Other key appointments include Segun Dada as Director of New Media and Solomon Arowolo as Secretary of New Media, while Dele Alake leads a five-member team of presidential campaign spokespersons that includes Alwan Hassan, Ayobami Oyalowo, Kemi Asekun-Shittu and Adamu Fanda.
The Legal Directorate will be headed by Muiz Adeyemi Banire, with Dr Liman Hassan and Babatunde Ogala as deputies, while several senior legal practitioners and political figures will serve as members.
In a message to members of the council, President Tinubu charged them to work tirelessly towards securing victory for the APC in the 2027 elections and urged directorate leaders to engage party members who were not formally listed but could contribute to the campaign.
The President said the administration had delivered on its campaign promises and urged the campaign council to showcase its achievements, inspire confidence among Nigerians and resist efforts by opposition forces to reverse the country’s current trajectory.
